In case it rains . . . in case it doesn’t rain . . . the wedding schedule read. I drove out from Sacramento early in the morning with a loud beating of “in case it rains” against my car windshield. It poured so heavily that I hardly imagined doing portraits outside, but I still had hope that just maybe the quiet street of Palo Alto would remain dry. Against all odds Jamie and Justin cruised around Stanford campus on their wedding day as if it never rained anywhere. They overcame all the shadows of clouds that appeared in the early morning and strolled together hand in hand, smiling, laughing, and totally in love with one another. Together we found many beautiful spots for their pictures, a gorgeous tree with yellow leaves, old wooden doors, and an iron gate that reminded me of England.
The remainder of the day Jamie and Justin spent surrounded by their friends and family that came all the way from Korea to witness their marriage. I met Jamie’s roommates, Justin’s coworkers, their church friends and was overwhelmed by how kind they were and so excited for the couple. Jamie and Justin, you have such a way with people and I just loved being part of your wedding day. Thank you for the honor to document your love and the beginning of your journey. Keep running hard, now together!
A big thanks to Savannah for covering the end of the reception for me!

There is something mysterious about this photo that I just love.
Reception took place at an Italian restaurant in Palo Alto.
Some detail shots done on the curbside of the street, at the entrance to Spalti ;)
